L'evaluation de la protection commerciale : une utilisation critique des Trade Restrictiveness Indexes

Abstract

Cet article evalue les differences internationales dans le degre de liberalisation commerciale en utilisant les indices de restrictivite commerciale (Trade Restrictiveness Indexes) developpes par Anderson, Bannister et Neary. Nous construisons un modele d'equilibre general calculable original mettant l'accent sur les distorsions commerciales dans le secteur agricole afin d'estimer le niveau de la protection en tenant compte de son cout. Nous mettons parallelement en evidence le manque de robustesse de l'indice welfare-equivalent, alors que l'indice import-equivalent supporte beaucoup mieux les variations d'hypotheses.
