MARMOTTE : un modele multinational de 17 pays industrialises

Abstract

Marmotte est un modele multinational annuel de moyen terme construit par le CEPII et le CEPREMAP. Il considere que les agents ont des anticipations parfaites et que leurs comportements resultent d'optimisations intertemporelles. Il inclut des representations detaillees des economies europeennes. Il prend ainsi en compte les differences structurelles entre ces pays et leurs consequences sur le processus d'integration economique de l'Union europeenne. Il s'avere par consequent un instrument approprie pour analyser la transmission internationale de chocs economiques. Cet article donne d'abord une breve description du modele puis presente un ensemble de variantes de base. Il fournit ensuite une presentation de certaines caracteristiques de la recession mondiale de 2001 et montre enfin comment l'analyse par Marmotte des effets d'un ralentissement temporaire des gains de productivite aux etats-Unis permet de mieux comprendre certains aspect de cette recession.
