Das INSM-Ökonomenranking 2024: Eine kritische Analyse

Abstract

Am 20. November 2024 veröffentlichte die Neue Zürcher Zeitung ein neues Ökonomenranking, das von der Initiative Neue Soziale Marktwirtschaft (INSM) erstellt wurde. Es knüpft an das zuletzt 2021 erschienene Ranking der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung an. Der Artikel stellt die wesentlichen methodischen Änderungen vor, präsentiert deskriptive Analysen und diskutiert kritische Aspekte. Es wird zudem ein Blick auf die Entwicklung seit 2018 geworfen. Abschließend werden die aktuellen Ergebnisse mit dem RePEc-Ranking verglichen. Die Analyse zeigt deutliche Veränderungen in der Zusammensetzung der Top-Ökonominnen und -Ökonomen, eine stärkere Gewichtung sozialer Medien und eine moderate Korrelation mit wissenschaftlichen Rankings.
