Abkehr von Überregulierung und Bürokratie dringend geboten

Abstract

In Deutschland besteht Einigkeit, dass die stetig zunehmende Überregulierung und Bürokratie zu den zentralen Herausforderungen des Landes zählen. Obgleich diese Erkenntnis seit Jahrzehnten besteht, hat es bisher keine Regierung geschafft, den Trend von zunehmender Regulierung umzudrehen. Auch wenn alle Parteien in ihren Programmen für die Bundestagswahl 2025 planen, Bürokratie abzubauen, ist unklar, was man sich von diesen Versprechen erhoffen kann. Es ist notwendig, das Problem an der Wurzel anzupacken. Ohne ein Umdenken dahin, dass der Staat nicht alle Probleme lösen kann und sollte, wird Bürokratieabbau nicht funktionieren. Auch ein größeres Vertrauen in marktwirtschaftliche Instrumente wäre notwendig, da diese in der Regel mit weniger Bürokratie verbunden sind. Vollständigere und transparentere Informationen über Nutzen und Kosten von Regulierung und bessere (ökonomische) Bildung könnten helfen, dieses Umdenken zu begünstigen.
