EU-Binnenmarkt stärken: Die ungenutzten Potenziale eines vertieften Dienstleistungshandels

Abstract

Der Dienstleistungssektor war in den vergangenen zwei Jahrzehnten wesentlicher Wachstumstreiber des Wohlstands in der Europäischen Union (EU). Statt die Wertschöpfungspotenziale des Dienstleistungshandels jedoch stärker zu nutzen, leisten sich die Mitgliedstaaten der EU weiterhin erhebliche nationale Barrieren. Der Flickenteppich von 27 Systemen in der EU mit unterschiedlichen Regulierungen und Marktzugangsbarrieren erschwert maßgeblich den grenzüberschreitenden Dienstleistungshandel. Unsere quantitative Analyse zeigt, dass ein Abbau der Barrieren und eine bessere Harmonisierung und Integration des EU-Binnenmarkts für den Dienstleistungshandel Europas Wirtschaft und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit in allen Bereichen stärken und spürbare Wohlstandsgewinne erzeugen würde.
