Die Soziale Marktwirtschaft aus Bevölkerungsperspektive I/III: Wie beliebt ist die Soziale Marktwirtschaft in der Bevölkerung?

Abstract

Die Krisen der vergangenen Jahre hatten und haben nachhaltigen Einfluss auf den Wohlstand in Deutschland. Glauben die Bürgerinnen und Bürger noch an die Soziale Marktwirtschaft als Garant eines »Wohlstands für alle«? Basierend auf einer repräsentativen Befragung von 2 000 deutschen Bürgerinnen und Bürgern geben wir in einer dreiteiligen Serie Antworten auf diese wichtige Frage. In diesem ersten Teil wird gezeigt, dass die Befragten im Mittel eine geringe Kenntnis über die historischen Ursprünge der Sozialen Marktwirtschaft haben. Dennoch bewerten 75% der Befragten die Soziale Marktwirtschaft positiv. Die durchschnittliche Bewertung liegt bei 6,8 von 10 Punkten. Relativ niedrige Zustimmungswerte äußern Niedrigqualifizierte, Geringverdienende und Personen ohne Kenntnisse der historischen Ursprünge der Sozialen Marktwirtschaft. Bei Wählerinnen und Wählern der staatstragenden Parteien CDU, FDP, Grüne und SPD gibt es kaum Unterschiede bei der Bewertung und den Kenntnissen der Sozialen Marktwirtschaft, während beide Werte für die Wählerinnen und Wähler der randständigen Parteien Die Linke und AfD merklich niedriger ausfallen.
