ifo Migrationsmonitor: Afghanistan im freien Fall – Rückkehr der Taliban und Flucht als letzter Ausweg

Abstract

Politische, ökonomische, soziale und ökologische Faktoren bestimmen das Flucht- und Migrationsgeschehen in und aus Afghanistan. Der Abzug internationaler Truppen, die Rückkehr der Taliban und der Rückgang der Entwicklungshilfe verschärfen die Situation. Viele Afghan*innen sind gezwungen, ihre Heimat zu verlassen, wobei die Binnenmigration den Großteil der Migration in Afghanistan ausmacht. Von denjenigen, die die Flucht ins Ausland wagen, ziehen die meisten in die Nachbarländer Pakistan und Iran. Die beiden Länder beherbergen derzeit ca. 80% der afghanischen Migrant*innen; im Vergleich dazu sind nur einige wenige auf dem Weg in westliche Länder.
