Wie ungleich ist Corona in Deutschlands Gemeinden und Kreisen verteilt?

Abstract

Wir untersuchen, wie stark sich Corona auf einzelne Landkreise und erstmals auch auf einzelne Gemeinden innerhalb Deutschlands konzentriert. Unsere Ergebnisse zeigen ein beachtliches regionales Gefälle in den Corona-Infektionsraten auch innerhalb einzelner Bundesländer. Die Neuinfektionen konzentrieren sich immer stärker auf bis dahin wenig betroffene regionale Hotspots. Eine effiziente Eindämmung der Pandemie erfordert deshalb zielgenaue lokale Maßnahmen; einheitliche nationale Maßnahmen werden dem immer ungleicher werdenden Neuinfektionsgeschehen nicht gerecht.
