Angebot und Nachfrage auf dem Rüstungsmarkt – Evidenz auf Basis von Unternehmensdaten aus der Rüstungsindustrie

Abstract

Verteidigungsökonomen untersuchen schon lange, welche Faktoren die Nachfrage nach Verteidigungsausgaben bestimmen und was den Handel mit Rüstungsgütern beeinflusst. Die Angebotsseite fand hierbei geringe Beachtung. Eine neue Studie auf Basis der Umsätze der weltweit größten Rüstungsunternehmen zeigt, dass nationale Rüstungsausgaben und Rüstungsexporte positiv mit den Umsätzen der größten Rüstungsunternehmen des entsprechenden Landes korrelieren.
