Der Bitkom-ifo-Digitalindex: Ein neuer Indikator für die konjunkturelle Entwicklung der Digitalwirtschaft in Deutschland

Abstract

Die Digitalwirtschaft ist in der offiziellen Wirtschaftszweigklassifikation der statistischen Ämter nicht eigenständig definiert. Sie verbindet ein breites Spektrum an mit der Digitalisierung verbundenen Wirtschaftszweigen. Die Bedeutung dieses »Sektors« nimmt jedoch zu. Deshalb hat das ifo Institut in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Branchenverband Bitkom aus den bestehenden Zeitreihen der ifo Konjunkturumfragen ein Geschäftsklima für die Digitalwirtschaft entwickelt, das die konjunkturellen Entwicklungen dieses Bereichs abbildet. Der aktuelle »Bitkom-ifo-Digitalindex« zeigt eine positive Lage bei den Firmen der IT und Telekommunikation, aber weniger Optimismus für die kommenden Monate.
