Fracking in Deutschland und Europa – Hype oder Chance?

Abstract

Welche Chancen und Risiken ergeben sich aus der Schiefergasförderung in Europa und speziell in Deutschland? Nach Ansicht von Felix Müsgens, Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg, und Andreas Seeliger, Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Mosbach, sollte die skeptische Haltung gegenüber einer einheimischen Shale-Gas-Förderung überprüft und die Wiederbelebung der deutschen Gasförderindustrie in Betracht gezogen werden. Kirsten Westphal, Stiftung Politik und Wissenschaft, Berlin, analysiert die Folgen des US-Schiefergasbooms. Die USA können nicht nur rein rechnerisch energieunabhängig werden, der Schiefergasboom fördert auch die geopolitische Entwicklung der Vereinigten Staaten in Richtung Asien. Stefan Ladage, Harald Andruleit und Michael Kosinowski, Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (BGR), Hannover, betrachten die Schiefergasvorkommen in Deutschland. Inwieweit Schiefergas gefördert werden kann und in welchem Umfang sei zurzeit noch nicht absehbar.
