Innovationsindikatoren zum globalen Klimaschutz – FuE-Ausgaben und Patente

Abstract

Die Erfindung, der Einsatz und die Verbreitung sauberer Energietechnologien gelten als wichtige Instrumente im Kampf gegen den globalen Klimawandel. Zwei Indikatoren – FuE-Ausgaben und Patente – ermöglichen eine qualitative Einschätzung potenzieller Energieinnovationen. Ein Vergleich zwischen Technologien, insbesondere zwischen Energie-, Klimaschutz- und anderen Technologien, zeigt, dass die Energieforschung über einen Zeitraum von 25 Jahren gegenüber anderen Technologiebereichen an Gewicht verloren hat und erst in den letzten Jahren, nicht zuletzt durch die Aktivitäten der Schwellenländer, Boden gut machen konnte. Der Anteil der potenziellen Klimaschutzausgaben an den energiebedingten FuE-Ausgaben hat jedoch mehr oder weniger beständig zugenommen.
