Kurz zum Klima: Historische CO2-Emissionen und die Frage nach der gerechten Verteilung

Abstract

Während die CO2-Emissionen weltweit weiter ansteigen, sind die Emissionen relativ zum Bruttoinlandsprodukt in den meisten Ländern rückläufig. Insbesondere westliche Nationen erwirtschaften ein immer höheres BIP mit immer geringer werdendem relativen Anteil an CO2-Emissionen. Länder wie China oder Indien folgen diesem Trend deutlich verzögert. Der vorliegende Artikel zeigt die historische Entwicklung der weltweiten CO2-Emissionen relativ zum BIP. Der im Vergleich zu anderen Emissionsanalysen lange Beobachtungszeitraum, beginnend im Jahr 1850, lässt den bisherigen Verlauf deutlich zum Vorschein treten.
