Abstract

Matthias Elbers, ehem. Finanzfachzeitung »Der Neue Kämmerer«, stellt in seinem Kommentar seine Sichtweise der Eurokrise dar. Für ihn handelt es sich im Kern um eine Zahlungsbilanzkrise mehrerer europäischer Volkswirtschaften, die durch chronische Leistungsbilanzdefizite ausgelöst und in der Folge durch Kapitalflucht weiter verschärft wurde. Dabei sind, seiner Meinung nach, die chronischen Leistungsbilanzdefizite der Krisenstaaten unmittelbare Ergebnis des politischen Projekts Europäische Währungsunion. Der Euro selbst sei die Ursache der Krise.
