Kurz zum Klima: Ein Rucksack voller Kohlenstoff

Abstract

Die Frage, was Kohlenstoffemissionen verursacht, wurde in verschiedenen Studien und mit zahlreichen Berechnungsmethoden untersucht. Der vorliegende Kurzzum- Klima-Artikel widmet sich der Frage: Wer verursacht Emissionen? Diese Fragestellung kann aus zwei verschiedenen Perspektiven betrachtet werden. Zum einen können Emissionen unter Verwendung eines produktionsbasierten Ansatzes berechnet werden. Alle Emissionen eines Landes, die bei der Verbrennung fossiler Brennstoffe entstehen, werden dem jeweiligen Land zugeschlagen. Der konsumbasierte Ansatz geht vom Konsum eines Landes aus und berechnet, welche Emissionen bei der Herstellung dieser Güter und Dienstleistungen entstanden sind. Der Vergleich des produktions- und des konsumbasierten Ansatzes bietet interessante Einblicke.
