Kurz zum Klima: Kommt Fisch in Zukunft noch auf den Tisch?

Abstract

Um den derzeitigen Pro-Kopf-Verbrauch an Fischprodukten beizubehalten, müsste die jährliche Fischproduktion bis 2030 um 40 Mill. Tonnen anwachsen. Eine solche Ausweitung lässt sich mit konventionellem Fischfang kaum erreichen. Denn neben der Überfischung stellt der Klimawandel eine potentielle Bedrohung für die Fischbestände und damit für die Fischerei dar. Eine Möglichkeit, die weltweit steigende Nachfrage nach Fischgütern zu bedienen, bietet die Aquakultur.
