Abstract

Wolfgang Böhmer, Ministerpräsident des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt, weist darauf hin, dass von allen Bundesländern Sachsen-Anhalt wohl am stärksten vom wirtschaftlichen Umbruch nach der Wende betroffen war, da die beiden dominierenden Industriezweige - der Schwermaschinen- und Anlagenbau sowie die Chemie - in der damaligen Form keine Überlebenschance hatten. Diese Defizite erforderten eine sehr schmerzhafte Strukturanpassung. Aber durch Investitionen in die Infrastruktur, eine zielgerichtete Wirtschaftsförderung und vor allem Investitionen in Wissen und Forschung könne das Ziel, Sachsen-Anhalt soll 2019 auf eigenen Füßen stehen, erreicht werden.
