Familiengründung trotz Studium

Abstract

Etwa Mitte der sechziger Jahre setzte ein Rückgang der Geburtenraten im westlichen Europa ein. In einigen Ländern wurde der Tiefpunkt schon in der ersten Hälfte der achtziger Jahre, in anderen aber auch erst später erreicht. Eine von mehreren Erklärungen für den Rückgang der Geburtenraten wird darin gesehen, dass Frauen ihr erstes Kind immer später bekommen. Die späte Familiengründung ist auch damit begründet, dass immer mehr Frauen eine weiterführende berufliche Ausbildung und insbesondere eine Hochschulausbildung absolvieren. Dieser Beitrag untersucht anhand internationaler Vergleiche, inwieweit eine Studien- und Familienförderung, die die Eigenverantwortlichkeit der Studentinnen und die finanzielle Unabhängigkeit von den Eltern stärkt. Veränderungen des Familiengründungsverhaltens bewirken.
