"New Economy" - nur bedingt Chancen für Deutschland

Abstract

Das ifo Institut hat in Zusammenarbeit mit Cambridge Econometrics und Prof. Jan-Egbert Sturm, Universität Konstanz, eine Studie zur "New Economy" in Deutschland erstellt, die die Wirkungsbeziehungen zwischen den Informations- und Kommunikationstechniken (IKT) und der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung in Deutschland analysiert. Hierbei ging es insbesondere um die Frage, ob positive Effekte, wie z.B. der Anstieg der Produktivität für Deutschland zu erwarten sind. Bei den betrachteten zwei Industrie- und zwei Dienstleistungsbranchen zeigte sich zwar eine hohe Diffusion von IKT, aber keine der erwarteten positiven Wirkungen.
