Abstract

Am 26. Oktober 2004 veranstaltete das ifo Institut in Kooperation mit der Industrie- und Handelskammer für München und Oberbayern und mit Unterstützung des Bayerischen Staatsministeriums für Wirtschaft, Infrastruktur, Verkehr und Technologie zum vierten Mal den "ifo Branchen-Dialog". Ziel dieser Arbeitstagung war die Analyse der Gesamtwirtschaft und der konjunkturellen Entwicklungen in der Industrie, der Bauwirtschaft, im Groß- und Einzelhandel sowie in ausgewählten Dienstleistungssektoren. Die Ergebnisse wurden in einem ausführlichen Tagungsband dokumentiert. Nach den Begrüßungsworten von Dr. Reinhard Dörfler, Hauptgeschäftsführer der IHK für München und Oberbayern, setzte sich Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Werner Sinn mit der wirtschaftlichen Lage in Deutschland und der Welt auseinander. Im Dialog zwischen Politik und Wirtschaft präsentierten und diskutierten am Nachmittag des Branchen-Dialogs Dr. Otto Wiesheu, Bayerischer Staatsminister für Wirtschaft, Infrastruktur, Verkehr und Technologie, und fünf Vertreter der Wirtschaft unter der Moderation von Nikolaus Piper, Leiter des Wirtschaftsressorts der Süddeutschen Zeitung, ihre bisherigen Erfahrungen mit der von der Bundesregierung verfolgten Innovationsoffensive. Zwischen den beiden Rahmenveranstaltungen des ifo Branchen-Dialogs wurden in vier Branchenforen die konjunkturellen Tendenzen in den Wirtschaftsbereichen Industrie, Handel, Bauwirtschaft und Dienstleistungen im Detail analysiert und diskutiert. Die Foren wurden jeweils durch eine Einführung von Experten des ifo Instituts eröffnet und die Themen danach durch Beiträge von externen Experten erweitert und vertieft. Eine Zusammenfassung bringt der vorliegende Bericht.
