Deutschlands Außenhandel mit den EU-Beitrittsländern

Abstract

Am 1. Mai 2004 werden zehn Länder der Europäischen Union beitreten. Infolge der abgeschlossenen Verträge zwischen den Beitrittsländern und der EU haben sich die Warenströme in wichtigen Bereichen der international gehandelten Güter stark ausgedehnt, so dass ein großer Teil der ökonomischen Effekte eines weitgehenden Freihandels von den Märkten bereits vollzogen wurde. Für das Jahr 2004 wird ein Wachstum der deutschen Exporte in diese Region von jahresdurchschnittlich 3% und für 2005 von 2,3% prognostiziert. Bei der Wareneinfuhr aus den EU-Beitrittsstaaten wird für 2004 mit einem Zuwachs im Jahresdurchschnitt von 9,7% und für 2005 von 8% gerechnet. Tritt die Prognose ein, so wird in den kommenden Jahren der Handelsbilanzsaldo mit den EU-Beitrittsstaaten für Deutschland erstmalig negativ ausfallen.
