Entwicklung der Einzelhandelspreise und der Lebenshaltungskosten seit Einführung des Euro

Abstract

Die Preisentwicklung im Einzelhandel und in der Lebenshaltung stand vor allem im vergangenen Jahr in der öffentlichen Diskussion. Betrachtet man die Preisentwicklung in 2002 im Einzelhandel, insbesondere bei Nahrungs- und Genussmitteln sowie bei Gebrauchsgütern, zeigt sich ein nur leichter Anstieg bzw. teilweise sogar ein Rückgang der Einzelhandelspreise. Für 2002 ist also kein »Teuro«-Effekt im gesamten Preisniveau des Einzelhandels festzustellen. Allerdings sind die Lebenshaltungskosten insgesamt im Vergleich zu den Einzelhandelspreisen seit dem Basisjahr 1995 deutlich stärker angestiegen und bewegen sich auf einem wesentlich höheren Niveau. Insofern hat der Einzelhandel im Rahmen der Lebenshaltungskosten insgesamt eher einen deutlich dämpfenden Einfluss auf die gesamte Preisentwicklung ausgeübt. Dabei handelt es sich aber um Durchschnittspreise über ganze Waren- und Dienstleistungsgruppen, in denen stärkere Preissteigerungen einzelner Güter und das Agieren einzelner »schwarzer Schafe«in der großen Zahl der aktiven Marktteilnehmer nicht zum Ausdruck kommen.
