Belgien: Erholung im Sog der Europakonjunktur

Abstract

Die belgische Wirtschaft ist 2001 in eine leichte Rezession gerutscht, die Ende des Jahres ausgelaufen ist. Das reale Bruttoinlandsprodukt hat sich um knapp 1½% gegenüber 2000 erhöht. Die Arbeitslosenquote lag im Jahresdurchschnitt bei knapp 7%, die Lebenshaltungskosten um 2,4% über dem Niveau des Vorjahres. 2002 dürfte das reale BIP um etwa 1½% zunehmen. Auf dem Arbeitsmarkt verschlechtert sich die Situation zunächst noch, und die Arbeitslosenquote wird sich im Schnitt des Jahres leicht auf knapp 71/4% erhöhen. 2003 wird die Konjunktur zunehmend an Schwung gewinnen, wobei die wichtigsten Impulse von der stark expandierenden Auslandsnachfrage kommen. Das reale BIP dürfte um reichlich 2¾% steigen, und auf dem Arbeitsmarkt wird sich die Lage verbessern.
