Abstract

Der Antiquitäten- und Kunstmarkt erlebte seit 1997 einen stetigen Auftrieb. Die großen Kunstmessen und Auktionen erzielten Mitte 2001 teilweise unerwartet hohe Umsätze. Ging man vor dem 11. September 2001 noch von einer stabilen Marktentwicklung mit jährlichen Umsatzsteigerungen von ca. 4% über das Jahr 2002 hinaus aus, so sind die Folgen des Terroranschlages auf diesen recht sensiblen Markt nicht abschätzbar. Denn das günstige Wechselkursverhältnis zwischen DM und US-$ garantierte bisher eine rege Nachfrage nach Qualitätsware aus dem Nicht-Euro-Raum.
