Irland: Die Tigersprünge werden kürzer

Abstract

In Irland expandierte das Wirtschaftswachstum im Jahr 2000 mit 11% nicht nur stärker als in den beiden Vorjahren, sondern auch mehr als dreimal so dynamisch wie in den anderen westeuropäischen Ländern. Auch auf dem Arbeitsmarkt verbesserte sich die Lage erheblich, die Arbeitslosenquote ging im Durchschnitt des Jahres auf 4,2% zurück. Aber auch der Preisanstieg war mit 5,3% sehr lebhaft. 2001 dürfte das reale Bruttoinlandsprodukt um rund 6% zunehmen. Die Konsumentenpreise werden im Schnitt des Jahres um etwa 4% steigen, und die Arbeitslosenquote wird vermutlich auf knapp 4% sinken. Auch im Jahr 2002 wird das Wirtschaftswachstum im westeuropäischen Vergleich überdurchschnittlich stark ausfallen.
