Höhere Rentenanpassung in Ostdeutschland erforderlich?

Abstract

Nach den Plänen der Bundesregierung soll die turnusmäßige Anpassung der Altersrenten in den nächsten beiden Jahren ausgesetzt werden. Statt einer Rentensteigerung im Ausmaß der durchschnittlichen Nettolohnentwicklung soll ein jährlicher Inflationsausgleich gewährt werden. Dieses Reformvorhaben stieß in Ostdeutschland auf besonders heftige Kritik. Wegen der dort immer noch niedrigeren Renten als in Westdeutschland sei der Anpassungsbedarf größer. Die Argumentation ist zwar für die Eckrente richtig, für einen Ost-West-Vergleich sollte allerdings besser die durchschnittlich verfügbare Altersrente herangezogen werden.
