Abstract

1996 expandierte das reale Bruttoinlandsprodukt in Spanien mit 2,2% erneut stärker als im westeuropäischen Durchschnitt. Die Arbeitslosenquote sank um 0,7 Prozentpunkte auf 22,2%. 1997 wird sich das wirtschafltiche Wachstum etwas beschleunigen; das reale BIP dürfte um gut 3% zunehmen, die Arbetislosenquote um 1 Prozentpunkt zurückgehen. Für 1998 zeichnet sich eine weitere Kräftigung des Aufschwungs ab. Für das reale BIP kann mit einem Wachstum von fast 3,5% gerechnet werden. Die Lage auf dem Arbeitsmarkt bessert sich weiter. In einem Exkurs werden die Chancen Spaniens geprüft, das "Maastricht-Examen" zu bestehen.
