Sind Innovationen beschäftigungswirksam?

Abstract

Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt Ergebnisse von mikroökonometrischen Untersuchungen vor, die mit Daten des ifo Unternehmenspanels durchgeführt wurden und Beschäftigungswirkungen von Produkt- und Prozeßinnovationen empirisch belegen. Die Studie kommt zu dem Ergebnis, daß von Produktinnovationen positive Beschäftigungswirkungen ausgehen. Auch bei Prozeßinnovationen kann kein Beschäftigungsrückgang festgestellt werden. Zudem ist oftmals eine erfolgreiche Produktinnovation ohne gleichzeitige Prozeßinnovation nicht möglich. Der arbeitssparende technische Fortschritt stellt daher nur einen Teilaspekt von Prozeßinnovationen dar.
