Innovationsfähigkeit der deutschen Industrie in Gefahr?

Abstract

Die Ergebnisse des ifo Innovationstests zeigen, daß sich die deutsche Industrie den veränderten Wettbewerbsbedingungen durch kürzere Produktentwicklungszeiten angepaßt hat. Allerdings läßt sich nicht beurteilen, ob die Verkürzung in allen Fällen ausreichend war. Während die Innovationstätigkeit 1994 insgesamt am häufigsten durch eine zu geringe Rendite der Produktinnovationen behindert wurde, spielte in den neuen Bundesländern Kapitalmangel eine fast ebenso wichtige Rolle. Probleme könnten sich daraus ergeben, daß sich die betrieblichen Innovationsprozesse an den traditionell beherrschten Technologiefeldern orientieren. Das Fachgebiet "Innovationsmanagement" sollte daher künftig in betriebswirtschaftliche und ingenieurwissenschaftliche Studiengänge aufgenommen werden.
