Wachstumszentren in Bayern : Rückkehr zu bekannten räumlichen Entwicklungsmustern?

Abstract

Die Wiedervereinigung hat den räumlichen Strukturwandel in Bayern beschleunigt und in eine andere Richtung gelenkt. Die Region München ist als Wachstumslokomotive nicht mehr so dominierend. An Wirtschaftskraft haben vor allem die ober- und unterfränkischen (ehemaligen) Grenzregionen gewonnen, aber auch die Region Nürnberg fand durch die Wiedervereinigung Anschluß an den bayrischen Wachstumstrend. Trotz der unübersehbaren Impulse durch die Grenzöffnung setzt sich die Veränderung der Raumstruktur in Bayern fort. Die bayrischen Verdichtungsräume und die peripheren, ländlichen Regionen verlieren an relativer Wirtschaftskraft zugunsten der Regionen mit Verdichtungsansätzen. Die Kernstädte verlieren weiter an relativer Wirtschaftskraft zugunsten ihres Umlands. Die Wirtschaftskraft, Arbeitsproduktivität, Industriearbeitsplätze und Gesamtbeschäftigung zeigen insgesamt ein unterschiedliches räumliches Entwicklungsmuster. Als Ergebnis bleibt weiter festzuhalten, daß sich nach dem Vereinigungs- und Ostöffnungsimpuls die Wachstumsschwerpunkte wieder in den Süden Bayern zu verlagern scheinen.
