Der Umweltschutzmarkt : Zunehmender regionaler Wettbewerb um Marktanteile

Abstract

Die sich abzeichnende Nachfrage in den neuen Bundesländern, bei den EG-Partnern und in Osteuropa macht den Markt für Umwelttechnik und Umweltschutzdienstleistungen für immer mehr Anbieter attraktiv, was auch durch den Ausstellerrekord bei der Umweltmesse ENVITEC in Düsseldorf dokumentiert wird. Der Umweltschutzmarkt wird aber nicht nur von den Anbietern als Wachstumsmarkt betrachtet, auch einzelne Regionen setzen auf die Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten dieses Sektors. Seine besonderen Charakteristika machen ihn zu einem bevorzugten Objekt regionaler Entwicklungsstrategien. Das ifo Institut hat für eine Reihe von Bundesländern und Stadtregionen Regionalstudien zum Umweltschutzmarkt durchgeführt. In dem Beitrag werden einige Ergebnisse vorgestellt.
