Kommunen und Länder bauen öffentliche Beschäftigung aus

Abstract

Die Beschäftigung im öffentlichen Dienst nimmt stetig zu. Bereits seit 2008 wächst der öffentliche Dienst schneller als die Bevölkerung; insbesondere auf Landesebene und in den Kommunen. Während im Jahr 2008 noch 55 Beschäftigte je 1.000 Einwohner im öffentlichen Dienst beschäftigt waren, waren es im Jahr 2022 rund 62. Dies entspricht einem Anstieg von 13%. Getrieben wird dieser Beschäftigungsanstieg von der öffentlichen Verwaltung, dem Bereich „Soziales und Jugend“ und der Beschäftigung an Hochschulen.
