Lieferengpässe in der deutschen Industrie – Eine Einordnung

Abstract

Seit ungefähr einem Jahr leidet die deutsche Industrie unter massiven Behinderungen auf der Beschaffungsseite, was nicht nur den Preisauftrieb in Deutschland befeuert, sondern auch die gesamtwirtschaftliche Entwicklung beeinträchtigt. Wesentliche Ursachen für diese Lieferkettenprobleme sind die Folgen der Corona-Pandemie sowie aktuell der Krieg in der Ukraine. Zum Teil spiegeln sich hierin aber auch strukturelle Veränderungen der globalen Nachfrage, die sich auch als dauerhaft entpuppen könnten. Hieraus folgt, dass es keineswegs selbstverständlich ist, dass die Beschaffungsprobleme sich in absehbarer Zeit auflösen werden. Wichtig ist es deshalb, nicht nur die Lieferantenstruktur stärker zu diversifizieren, sondern auch Substitutionsmöglichkeiten insbesondere bei Rohstoffen zu nutzen. Die aktuell stark gestiegenen Preise für Vorleistungsgüter liefern den Anreiz hierfür.
