Subjektiver sozioökonomischer Status und Lebenszufriedenheit

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag untersucht den Zusammenhang zwischen dem subjektiven sozioökonomischen Status und der allgemeinen Lebenszufriedenheit. Vorangegangene Studien zeigen, dass Personen mit überdurchschnittlichem Einkommen und höherem sozioökonomischen Status zufriedener sind. Bei der Selbsteinschätzung des sozioökonomischen Status bestehen jedoch systematische Verzerrungen mit Tendenz zur Mitte. Dies bedeutet eine Divergenz zwischen subjektivem und objektivem Status. Mittels einer Regressionsanalyse wird gezeigt, dass eine signifkante Korrelation zwischen dem subjektiven sozioökonomischen Status und der Zufriedenheit besteht. Dieses Ergebnis bleibt bestehen, wenn für das Haushaltseinkommen kontrolliert wird.
