Abstract

The history of the modern world means the history of the capitalist world. Since the beginning of his civilization, the human has based his economical becoming on money, on capital, on accumulation. When we speak of the past of the capitalism, we speak about different periods of time having different features. The early capitalism, starting from 1500, was based on some reference points: the influx of luxuries resulted from colonies, providing cheap or even free manpower by using the slaves, developing the mine and agricultural system in America, the appearance of the manufactures and, subsequently, of the first factories. There appear processes of accumulation and enrichment so that, when the bourgeoisie becomes strong enough to dominate the world market, the massive expansion of the capitalisms starts by preaching the free exchange. The same mechanisms manifest nowadays when IMF, the World Bank or WTO speak of the free trade, the liberalization of the capital account, the disappearance of the borders, the globalization. We should not be misunderstood. Here it is not about a criticism brought to a way of being that we feature as being natural, but about the simple descriptions of a state of fact, sometimes even of consigning the history as such.
