Abstract

In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between innovation and performance at the level of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It is considered to carry out a literature review in which the data of twenty relevant studies are collected, these constituting the basis from which applied research starts. In the process of reviewing the studies, elements such as the applied research methodology, performance evaluation variables, innovation evaluation variables and the results obtained from the research were identified. The results indicated that through innovation, SMEs can become more profitable. The ability to innovate products, processes, marketing and management has helped improve the business performance of SMEs.
