Abstract

In order to understand the dynamics of inter-firm relationships in the sports tourism market in relation to the profiles of the actors involved, this research attempts to bring together the sociology of social networks and the sociology of careers. Based on more than seventy interviews with managers of very small firms located in a rural area of central France, this paper show that inter-firm relationships are progressively decoupled from the personal relationships of their managers as they become increasingly professionalized.
