La Grande Illusion : libéralisme économique et guerre russo-ukrainienne

Abstract

The article explains the reasons for the Russia-Ukraine war from the point of view of economic and political liberalism. The arguments on the futility of wars of aggression, formulated in 1909 by Norman Angell, still seem relevant today. Russia can gain nothing from this war in economic terms. The concept of the "Russian world" is at the root of the decision to start the war. Ironically, in the long term, Russia can only be reintegrated into the world economy if it accepts the refuted liberal values and suffers a military defeat.
