ONG, initiateurs des stratégies Bottom of the Pyramid ?. Le cas d’Entrepreneurs du Monde

Abstract

This research aims to analyse how NGO?s are able to conduct sustainable initiatives dedicated to the poorest, the BoP population. To achieve this, a research case study was carried out on the social enterprise Nafa Naana, which was created by Entrepreneurs du Monde NGO in Burkina Faso. The results conclude that an organisation from the third sector is able to implement sustainable BoP initiatives whether it interacts with the local ecosystem and develop new resources and competences necessary to develop commercial practices. The adoption of a social enterprise identity, independent from the NGO incubator, appears to offer flexibility which contributes to well-balanced economic and social values creation.
