Abstract

La Revue de l'OFCE a 25 ans et quelques jours. Créée par Jean-Marcel Jeanneney, son premier numéro fut publié en juin 1982. Il fallait relever un défi considérable : celui de la crédibilité. Comment une équipe d'une quinzaine d'économistes — les effectifs de l'OFCE ne se sont que progressivement étoffés —, dont quelques universitaires de surcroît, pouvait-elle prétendre rivaliser avec l'expertise des grands centres de l'administration — l'INSEE, la Direction de la Prévision, etc. — en matière notamment d'évaluation despolitiques publiques et de prévisions ? Il y eut naturellement des ricanements dans le « microcosme » parisien. Mais l'intelligence et la rigueur de Jean-Marcel Jeanneney en même temps que le soutien constant de Raymond Barre, de René Rémond, de Jean-Claude Casanova et d'Edmond Malinvaud furent essentiels pour permettre à l'OFCE de traverser les premières turbulences.
