Abstract

In a general way, previous research brought a better understanding of the role of support structures on the development of young companies, but there is no consensus on their effectiveness. Moreover, it focused on experiences in developed and emerging countries. This article proposes to analyze the role of policies and structures of incubation in a developing country. The study focused on a representative sample of ICT sector enterprises, hosted in different incubators on Tunisian territory. The results show that business growth is directly linked to the ambition and scope of the entrepreneurial project. The incubator plays no direct role with regard to growth, but it supports entrepreneurs in terms of the dual dimension of local integration and the completion of management training.
