Que nous apprennent les enquêtes de conjoncture dans l'industrie ?

Abstract

Economic surveys carried on the industry are proved to be very valuable tools for what regards the analysis of the behavior of national economies. These surveys, relying partly on polls, can be used to build various kinds of indicators enabling to follow the course of economies across the phases of their cycles. In this paper we show that, using these indicators, the synchronization among the four major European countries have increased on the global industrial level over the last decade. A similar study made on the three main industrial subsectors exhibits the existence of national cycles rather than sectorial ones. Finally, the crisis of 2008 seems to have induced heterogeneity among the subsectors investigated.
