Abstract

In West Africa, family farming is undergoing rapid change, due to globalization as well as sociodemographic and environmental transformations. These upheavals affect the distribution of rights and resources within family units, frequently resulting in increased inequalities to the detriment of women. Yet, despite numerous commitments to reduce gender inequalities, the methods used to monitor and analyze family farming and implement policies and projects often remain blind to these issues, thus contributing to their reproduction and even aggravation.
