Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to question the relationship between ethics and sustainable development in Cameroonian SMEs. To do this, a case study was conducted in three SMEs to emphasize the relationships and interrelationships between the two concepts. The in-depth study conducted demonstrated the translation of two concepts by practitioners, thereafter shows the path of ethical claims to sustainable development. Indeed, the progressive intent of the role of ethics, ethical vocation of the company, and ethical practice through certain virtues, strengthen the implementation and validation of concerns for sustainable development. It thus appears that the two concepts influence each other and contribute to not only improve governance in SMEs through the development of structures, processes and behaviors, but also the competitive SME perspective.
