La patrimonialisation des fleuves et des rivières.. Une comparaison France-Liban

Abstract

Analysis of the way rivers become heritage is based on a comparison of two UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Val de Loire (France) and the Kadisha valley (Lebanon). This article seeks to highlight the spatial, temporal and stakeholders continuities/discontinuities in the conduct of the two projects. It situates the management of these sites within territorial dynamics around them. This twin perspective of patrimonialisation/territorialisation provides insight on the issues and conflicts that drive the management and conservation of natural and cultural resources of both countries.
