Abstract

In this contribution, we present some aspects of Joan Robinson's life and career and especially the march of thought of the british economist : starting with a critical approach of Marshall's ideas, she embraces keynes' method, motivated by a thorough reflection on the problem of unemployment. She also was very interesting in Marx, through Kalecki, especially she closely knew, thanks to the many travels she made, the problem of underdevelopment. But, her main contribution is that she warned the economist on his probable aberration when he takes distance from the real situation, which is in itself the result of an historical process, far from neoclassical models
