Abstract

Arhivele de biblioteci sau muzee sunt mărturii ale memoriei noastre colective. Fie că sunt vechi sau actuale, ele fascinează prin ,,universul“ lor. Prin intermediul lor putem redescoperi o lume apusă, cu preocupările sale culturale, intelectuale sau privi cu un alt ochi la prezentul social, istoric, politic, cultural în care fiinţăm. Arhivele bibliotecilor medievale româneşti de la mănăstirile Mărgineni şi Văcăreşti au fost cunoscute în Europa timpului lor prin valoarea inestimabilă a manuscriselor, cărţilor şi periodicelor pe care le-au deţinut. Conţinutul lor exprima vastele preocupări intelectuale ale cărturarilor români umanişti şi racordarea acestora la valorile europene ale timpului. Rămăşiţele lor care se găsesc, astăzi, în cea mai mare parte la Biblioteca Academiei Române oglindesc, în mic, o imagine a vieţii culturale medievale româneşti. Arhiva Muzeului Naţional al Literaturii Române din Bucureşti contribuie, la rândul său, prin numărul imens de manuscrise, cărţi şi periodice la reconstituirea istoriei literaturii române de la începuturi până în prezent.
