Abstract

Articolul prezintă pe baza documentelor de arhivă existente aspecte legate de viaţa religioasă a românilor din Peninsula Balcanică în perioada cuprinsă între a doua jumătate a secolului al XIX-lea şi prima jumătate a secolului XX. Este, de asemenea, prezentată poziţia pe care a avut-o în toată această perioadă de timp Patriarhia de la Constantinopol faţă de acţiunile românilor. Acestea nu au fost încununate de succes, însă situaţia s-a schimbat după ce a fost emisă Iradeaua imperială din 1905 care asigura şi folosirea limbii române şi a dialectului aromânesc în biserică
