Spor medzi I.Kantom a G.Herderom o filozofiu dejín

Abstract

Hoci Kant a Herder patria k osvietenským filozofom. Ich spor o filozofii dejín má však niektoré aspekty, ktoré sú aktuálne najmä dnes, keď prebieha v Európe integračný proces. Herder bol jednak jedným z prvých teoretikov multikulturalizmu, ktorý uznával hodnoty všetkých kultúr, vrátane kultúr entít na primitívnej úrovni a ľudových kultúr, čo zohralo pozitívnu úlohu v procese národného obrodenia malých európskych národov, vrátane slovenského národa. Vyvrcholením historického procesu bol podľa Herdera národ a viacnárodné štáty by mali byť odsúdené k rozpadnutiu. Kant bol fakticky europocentrista, ktorý najmä popieral kultúrne hodnoty u etník na úrovni divošstva a zároveň hlásal nutnosť splynutia európskych národov do nadnárodného celku, čo ho viedlo k ostrej kritike Herderových názorov.
