Abstract

The aim of the paper is to compare the current position of African countries in the Millennium Development Goals final assessment and the starting point in the new indicators of Sustainable Development Goals. In the first part, the paper is devoted to a description of the UN development agenda and its evaluation by experts, as well as to the situation in Africa in 2015. In the second part, we examine the new set of goals and current values of their indicators in Africa. In most of the new indicators African countries are lagging behind, but in environmental indicators their position is relatively favourable.
